NEW RULE BY FIBA:
Note: 2 ploegen van dezelfde groep kunnen niet tegen elkaar spelen in de 1/8-Finals. In zo'n geval zullen de plaatsen veranderen. Omdat Fenerbahce SK and US Valenciennes Olympic van dezelfde groep (C) and Bourges Basket en Dexia Namur (B) van dezelfde groep, werd de nieuwe regel bij deze ploegen toegepast.

Door deze nieuwe regel speelt CSKA tegen Valenciennes ipv de 1/8 finale: CSKA - MONDEVILLE.....

NEW RULE BY FIBA:
Note: two teams from the same group in the Qualifying Round cannot meet each other in the Eighth-Finals. In such an event, pairings are switched. Because Fenerbahce SK and US Valenciennes Olympic are from the same group (C) and Bourges Basket and Dexia Namur from the same group (B), the rule for changing places in ranking has been used.

CSKA would have played the 1/8 FINAL against MONDEVILLE instead of playing Valenciennes.. The new rule placed them against Valenciennes..
