Loting voor het EK

Nationale ploeg kent hun tegenstanders voor het EK
In de Italiaanse stad Chieti is geloot voor het EK basketbal voor vrouwen, van 24 september tot 7 oktober 2007.

In groep B treffen de Belgian Cats Roemenië, Duitsland en Litouwen.
De eerste drie van de groep plaatsen zich voor de tweede ronde, waar gespeeld wordt tegen de topdrie van groep A. De punten uit de eerste ronde worden wel behouden.
De eerste vier van deze nieuwe groep bereiken de kwartfinales.De nieuwe Europese kampioen plaatst zich rechtstreeks voor de Spelen van 2008.
De nummers 2 tot 5 nemen deel aan een pre-olympisch toernooi in China.


Belgian national team will play in group B.

They will play Romania, Germany and Lithuania. The first three teams of the group will qualify for the second round. There they will meet the three first teams of group A. The first four out of those two groups will go to the quarter finals. The new European champion will qualify directly for the Olympics of 2008. Numbers 2 to 5 will have to play a pre - Olympic tournament in China.

CSKA blijft ongeslagen in de Russische competitie. Ze wonnen beide wedstrijden in Siberië.

Hallo! Jullie kunnen mijn dagboek lezen via onze nieuwe Weblog. Vandaag neem ik jullie mee op verplaatsing naar Siberië.
We zijn deze morgen om 9u15 vertrokken. Het is een uurtje rijden van ons zaal met de Volgaburmash bus naar de luchthaven van Samara. Onze vlucht was om 11u30 naar Novosibirsk. Dit is een 3- tal uren vliegen. Het instappen gebeurt via de achterkant van het vliegtuig. Bij sommige vluchten moeten we onze bagage zelf naar het vliegtuig brengen en inladen. (zie foto)
In Novosibirsk ligt al het eerste laagje sneeuw. Het is hier nu -1°. Dit is niks in vergelijking met vorig jaar waar het tot -35° graden was in Siberië. Het is hier 2 u later dan in Samara. Vanavond hebben we samen gegeten en naar de video van Novosibirsk gekeken. We spelen morgenavond.
Na de wedstrijd vertrekken we onmiddellijk naar Krasnoyarsk. Dit gebeurt met de nachttrein. 12 lange uren… Tijd genoeg voor een nieuw boek van Karin Slaughter, ‘Triptiek’ of een spelletje Sudoku op mijn PSP.
Vrijdag spelen we in Krasnoyarsk. Na de wedstrijd vertrekken via Moskou waar we een nachtvlucht nemen naar Samara. We komen toe in Samara rond 3.00 ’s nachts plaatselijke tijd.
Zoals je ziet zijn onze verplaatsingen binnen Rusland niet altijd even aangenaam.
Hopelijk kunnen we onze twee wedstrijden hier winnen! Tot binnenkort.

‘On the road’ with Ann.

Hello! You can read my diary on my new weblog. Today I will take you on the road with our team to Siberia.
We left this morning at 9.15u. It is an hour drive from our gym with the Volgaburmash bus to the airport of Samara. Our flight was at 11u30 to Novosibirsk. This is a three hour flight. Getting into the plain goes through the back of the plane. We have to carry our own bags into the plane on certain flights. (see picture)
There is already some snow here in Novosibirsk. It is -1 °C for the moment. This is nothing compared to what we had here last year, -35°. There is a time difference of 2 hours with Samara. So we had dinner and watched tape on a game of Novosibirsk. We are playing them tomorrow. Right after the game we are taking a night train to Krasnoyarsk. This is a 12 hour ride.. Plenty of time to read a book or to play Sudoku on my PSP.
The game against Krasnoyarsk is on Friday. We are leaving after the game via Moscow to Samara, where we arrive around 3.00 in the morning..
As you can read it is not always a pleasure to travel in Russia.
But hopefully we will win both our games over here! Talk to you soon.

Ann speelde vandaag haar eerste wedstrijd met CSKA Samara tegen Orenburg. Ann speelde 28 min en scoorde 11 ptn (5/10), 3 ass en nam 6 Reb. Dinsdag vertrekt de ploeg naar Siberië waar ze op woensdag tegen Novosibirsk spelen.

Ann played her fist game with CSKA Samara against Orenburg. Ann played 28 minutes and scored 11 pts (5/10), 3 ass and took 6 rebounds. The team is leaving to Siberia this tuesday where they will play against Novosibirsk on wednesday.

Ann is deze week aangekomen in Samara. De ploeg speelt nu onder de naam CSKA Moskou. (o.a. ploeg van Thomas Van den Spiegel) Maar de ploeg blijft in Samara. Er zijn twee nieuwe gezichten: A. Kostaki en D. Walker.
Ze hebben reeds 1 wedstrijd achter de rug in de Russische competitie tegen Kazan. Dit weekend zal Ann haar eerste wedstrijd thuis tegen Orenburg spelen.

Ann joined her team this week in Samara. The team will play under the new name CSKA Moscow (team of Belgian player Thomas Van den Spiegel) but will stay in Samara. There are two new players on the team: A. Kostaki and D. Walker.
They have played one game in the regular russian league against Kazan. Ann will play her first game this weekend against Orenburg.

Belgium qualifies for Italy 2007

Belgium ended 2d in their group and was able to qualify for the European Championship in Italy.(24 sept-7 oct)

Ann finished the qualifying rounds averaging 23 PTS and 10 reb.
